Johnny Biggs is a glimpse back on the 1930’s and the era of Prohibition when the sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages was outlawed. The story of Johnny “Biggs” Bigadza begins with his father, Harry “Whitey” Bigadza. Whitey was an industrious young lad in the 1930’s when famous speakeasy proprietors like Al Capone and “Legs” Diamonds were making their mark in Chicago and New York City. Turns out, Whitey was making his mark too. It just so happened that Whitey was known for cooking up a great burger. Whitey set up a small store front shop in Richfield, Ohio and quickly became famous for his cooked to order burgers, chili and French fries which were served in generous portions.

After hours, however, it’s said the real fun began. The stories of the speakeasy that existed secretly for many years below that modest little restaurant have only recently been uncovered. The secret passage is still located behind the corner booth where the elite and invited would maneuver down to the speakeasy below. Here, Whitey’s uncle, “Powerhouse” Pete, taught him how to pour the best drink this side of the Windy City. Behind these secret doors, patrons could relax and enjoy conversation with friends, listen to sporting events and enjoy lively entertainment while partaking in their drink of choice. Whitey’s son, Johnny “Biggs” Bigadza, is still amazed his father kept this secret all these years. What Johnny isn’t amazed by is the continued following of loyal customers. These customers know the food and philosophy is something special. We invite you to sit back and enjoy Johnny Biggs Booze N’ Burgers, a modern day speakeasy that speaks loud and clear of fresh, quality ingredients and generous portions. And, who knows, maybe there are more secrets to uncover…..
